"Tami-Mosi" was named by the property's prospector, and is an abbreviation for two adjacent geographical features: Tamberlaine Canyon on the South and Mosier Canyon on the North. The Tami claims make up the Southern portion of the property while the Mosi claims make up the Northern part. Power lines run right through the property so electricity should be no problem for mining. Another plus is the proximity of the town of Ely and local work crews. I drove up to Ely from Las Vegas to meet Sean Derby, one of the project geologists, and to see the site. We watched the crew run a reverse circulation rig and log samples from hole #18 which they were just finishing. They stop when they reach "guilmette limestone", the first indicator of the "devilsgate formation", beyond which the geologists do not anticipate finding any interesting mineralization. The drill crew is from Montana and when I was there they were drilling an impressive one hole per day. They draw water as needed from an on-site water tank, which is periodically refilled by truck. Backhoes are local and can be on site in ten minutes to flatten the drill platform and dig the sump catch for excess water used in drilling. We spent about an hour in the field, visiting the drill crew, drill holes, and some old mining works on the property. Afterwards Sean gave me a preview of the 3d model he was working on using the Surpac modelling software. So what's it all about? They've found manganese between the JoAnna (light grey limestone) and Pilot layers. And in an e-mail about a week ago Sean indicated that a press release should be coming out shortly. Sean says:
Molycor has a total of six properties in Nevada along the Carlin and Battle Mountain Eureka trends, and another six properties in British Columbia. |
